MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (January 19, 2010) – United Automobile Insurance Company, a property and casualty insurer focusing on automobile insurance and premium finance, has launched a blog that reveals how the South Florida courts are misused in personal injury protection lawsuits.

The condo association of Buckley Towers has sued QBE Insurance Corp. and its managing agent, Florida Intercoastal Underwriters, for more than $500 million, alleging bad faith and deception in handling the property’s hurricane insurance claims.

A spokesman with Florida Intercoastal Underwriters said the company had not been served the lawsuit and could not comment.

QBE, part of a large Australia-based insurance group, could not be reached.

Earlier this year, Buckely Towers, represented by Daniel Rosenbaum, an attorney with Katzman Garfinkel Rosenbaum in West Palm Beach, obtained a judgement against QBE in federal court for $25 million, after the company had denied claims for repairs. QBE has appealed.

The new suit, filed in Miami-Dade Circuit Court by Rosenbaum, alleges the companies intended to injure Buckley Towers, 1321 NE Miami Gardens Dr., while it was seeking insurance coverage to repair damage.
