Be sure to shop around for cheapest rate
|
We recently signed up for a new car insurance policy by searching for "cheap car insurance quotes" online. What we found was an extreme range in premiums from four different insurance companies!
Don't just stick with the same company if your premiums are increasing, and don't buy your car insurance coverage just because your insurance agent recommends a particular policy. The quotes we received for the minimum car insurance legally required in the State of Arizona ( liability, uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage) ranged from a minimum of $223 for six months to a whopping $592 for six months -- you can imagine which policy we chose. The company with cheap auto insurance and online quotes is Geico Insurance. Your auto insurance quotes may be different depending on your situation, but they had the best rate for us.
There are some great web sites online that allow you to receive instant auto insurance quotes, so it's easy to check out your options. Get quotes from as many companies as you can to find the best and cheapest car insurance policy.
Here are a couple of sites that give instant online insurance quotes:
InsureMe.com - Shop and compare multiple Auto Insurance quotes for free on this site.
Electric Insurance Company - an innovative insurance company worth checking out. Cool name, too!
AIG Auto Insurance - An long standing, reputable auto insurance company.
GEICO Insurance - These folks had the best rates for us. Instant online quotes.
As the most common form of insurance, car insurance (some call it automobile insurance, auto insurance or motor insurance) contains a mix of coverages -- namely, liability coverage (in case you hurt someone or damage their property) and property/casualty coverage in case you damage your own car.
Most states in the U.S. require minimum insurance coverage -- liability, uninsured motorist and underinsured motorist.
In choosing the right car insurance policy, you'll want to select a deductible (the amount you have to pay before your insurance kicks in) that fits your financial situation -- the lower the deductible, the higher your insurance premium will be.
The policy limits (the maximum your insurance company will pay if there is a claim against your policy) should be based on your financial situation and the amount of assets you will want to protect in case of a lawsuit. You don't want to lose your house if you are found legally responsible for an accident!
Be sure you've adequately protected yourself with sufficient insurance policy limits then be sure to shop around for the best price!
